"A true story of a non-Jewish pharmacist (the author) who persuaded the Nazi administration to allow him to stay & continue his work. Whilst doing so, he created a vault and stored Torahs & other religious artefacts, as well providing a hiding place/escape planning venue.

A beautifully written and accessible read, made more so as the Pod Orlem pharmacy is now a fabulous museum of life & culture with drawers of photos & diary extracts from the community of the time. Spent ages there…"
